You have been practicing, teaching and sharing your passion for Yoga. Now is the time to open to Yoga’s diverse tools and their purposeful application in your practice and teaching. At BelovedYoga, we believe the first step is for you to get intimately connected with yourself through the transformative power of yoga. From there, you will learn to refine your knowledge, proficiency and teaching skills in which empower you to take the seat of the teacher, in a group or an individual setting.

We use the Pancha Maya, Ayurveda & Svastha models as the foundation of our teacher training. In taking time with each of these models, you will enrich your understanding of the Intelligent system found in the Darshan of Yoga. Which will enhance your group teaching and your work with private clients.

This 300 hour program is designed to help you take the next step on your professional path as a yoga teacher, and your personal path toward integration of yoga into your life. We have created this program to guide you from the nuts and bolts of advanced teaching, to the refinement of your own inner wisdom, and finally to a deep understanding of the seat of the teacher.

BelovedYoga is devoted to the teachings of Modern Yoga as outlined to us through Sri Krishnamacharya. As students of A.G. & Indra Mohan, Dr. Ganesh Mohan, Viniyoga, Ashtanga and Iyengar, we pass the knowledge forth in a way that adapts to the here and now. The essence of the teachings is in the recognition of a personal practice and not a one size method.

Our asana teaching is based on vinyasa, or the art of sequential movement linked by breath. We embrace creative and physically challenging sequences as well as breath-centric therapeutic practices that focus on allowing room for the individual to explore. We draw our philosophical base from Sankyha, Raja and Tantra.

The 300 hour program is built around these core subjects:
1) Personal Transformation
2) Basics of Ayurveda
3) The Svastha Framework
4) Art of Private and working with Individuals
5) Intro to Therapeutic Use of Yoga and application to common imbalances: Depression, Structural Imbalances, Stress, Anxiety, Sleep Disorders, Cancer & Chronic Pain
6) Refining Teaching Methodologies for Group Teaching: Languaging, Incorporating Yogic Concepts and Philosophy into classes, expanding ideas of alignment and anatomy, the art of offering space for subtle practices: Breath Work & Meditation

Week 3- The Art and Necessity of the Subtle in Healing & Trauma-Informed Yoga — Philosophy, Breathwork and Mental Clarity- Jafar, Maryam & Heather

The Yogins have known what Science is now confirming. Ease, silence and stillness is a powerful gateway for transformation. These tools allow a person on the journey with any imbalance to transform the imbalance into a Teacher.

You will also obtain two certifications in this week long module: 30 hour BelovedYoga Trauma-Informed Yoga Certification and 20 hour BelovedYoga Contemplative Yoga Certification as part of this module. These two areas of focus will provide you with powerful tools to support your journey in working in complimentary settings with integrated healing practices and expand your teaching for your group and individual work.

The BelovedYoga Trauma-Informed Yoga Program is a one of a kind training blending the ancient wisdom of Yoga and Suffering with the modern science of Trauma. Developed by Heather Hagaman and Maryam Ovissi, we will shared evidence based science that confirms the necessity of befriending all the layers of our being to achieve peace in this life- the essence of Yoga. The greatest path to healing from Trauma is through the process of befriend the whole being! Learn Yogic Tools to Guide the Journey into Wholeness for all People!

Learn to hold space for the subtlest layer of the practice. With BelovedYoga’s focus on safety and accessibility, we feel there is an intelligent way to enter into ourselves; not forcing the mind or body to “Shut Down” instead we invite ourselves to “Soften In”. The tools of thoughtful concentration, steady and stable breath work, and stability of the body are all important on the path of Yoga. The 8 limb path is embraced and acknowledged as codified in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

Jafar and Maryam will share the method of Contemplative Yoga that they have created at BelovedYoga and share in the community.

Subtle layers of emotions will be explored through Rasa Sadhana (Tantric Emotional Balancing)
